Who We Are
The National Youth Neuroscience Organization (NYNO) is a student-led nonprofit organization dedicated to making neuroscience, psychology, and mental health education more accessible, engaging, and collaborative for high school students.
Founded with the belief that neuroscience should extend beyond memorization and traditional classroom learning, NYNO creates opportunities for students to explore brain science through competition, innovation, mentorship, outreach, and scientific communication.

To inspire and empower the next generation of neuroscience leaders by creating accessible opportunities for education, collaboration, innovation, and community impact.
What We Do
Competitions:
NYNO hosts a multi-track neuroscience competition where students apply neuroscience concepts through:
- problem-solving rounds
- innovation challenges
- presentations
- fast-paced neuroscience bowls
Our competitions are designed to emphasize collaboration, critical thinking, and real-world application rather than memorization alone.
Mentorship and Community (coming soon)
Through mentorship programs, speaker events, and collaborative opportunities, NYNO connects students with:
- college students
- researchers
- medical and neuroscience mentors
- STEM leaders and educators
We aim to create a supportive environment where students can grow academically and personally while exploring careers in neuroscience and healthcare.
Outreach and Education:
NYNO believes neuroscience should be accessible to everyone. Through outreach initiatives, students help bring neuroscience and mental health education into schools and communities through workshops, awareness events, and interactive learning experiences.
